Introducing Micheal York, our Service Manager...

We are pleased to introduce you to our team members and departments here at Wollaston and will be interviewing some of the key players in all our newsletters.

Department and position: Service Manager

 

Jobs before Wollaston: Started as a parts apprentice for Wollaston on 1 July 1996 straight from school. Worked my way up to Parts Manager and then made the move to Service Manager about 2005.

 

Responsibilities of current job: My main job is building and motivating the team so we can deliver excellent service "right first time, on time, every time". The team has over 40 members working in various departments including reservations, service advising, costing, technicians area, valeting and preparation.

 

What's the best thing about working at Wollaston: We are very lucky as we work with a premium product that has some very exciting models.

 

Qualifications/Courses attended: Too many to mention over the years.

 

Most memorable event/working day: When we moved from our small site on St Peters way to our new prestigious site on Bedford road.

 

Favourite BMW model: M3 CSL.

 

Thought for the day: Each and every day is an opportunity to be a better person than you were the day before.

 

Interests outside work: My daughter who is two and a half, building and driving my Westfield and MINI, riding my Ducati 749.

 

Last read book / seen film: The life of Aryton Senna.

 

Ideal holiday destination: Sydney, Australia.

 

Three likes: Sunshine, fast cars and bikes, spending time with the family.

 

Three dislikes: Rude people, untidiness, hospitals.

Matt Harrap, Parts

 

Department and Position: Parts Manager

 

Jobs before Wollaston: I worked in another BMW dealer for 8 years before trying my hand with Porsche. I returned to the brand I love with Wollaston about 2 years ago.

 

Responsibilities of current jobs: Providing great customer service whilst managing a team of 6 people, ensuring our targets are achieved, and keeping our parts department correctly stocked.

 

What's the best thing about working at Wollaston: The customer focused and fun approach our team demonstrate provide a great working atmosphere.

 

Most memorable event / working day: Driving the E92 M3 around the Nürburgring is certainly a plus side to working in the motor trade.

 

Favourite BMW model: E92 M3. In white.

 

Thought for the day: The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over but expecting different results.

 

Interests outside work: Karting - golf - holidays - girlfriend - but obviously not in that order.

 

Currently playing on the iPod play list / in the CD player: Paulo Nutini.

 

Last read book / seen film: David Baldacci.

 

Ideal holiday destination: Mauritius.

 

Three likes: Playing golf well, the sunshine, dining out.

 

Three dislikes: Playing golf badly, the rain, having to cook.
